Do you guys use a toddler leash? Before I had Matthew I used to look at parents with their toddlers on leashes a little funny. I wasn't criticizing them, it just looked strange. But now that Matthew is running around, I totally understand the need. A couple of months ago I took Matthew to buy him shoes. He was just content to walk around the store looking at shoes, but when I turned my back around to pay he ran out the store into the mall. Yikes! He was fast too even if he had just learned how to walk. Now at 15 months, he has gotten a lot faster. So I bought a very cute monkey one from Walmart. It hooks on like a backpack so it is very cute. It's come in very very handy!
My eldest was and still is umpridictable I hat to use a strap called "hold my hand" a log elastic band that tied his hand to mine but my next two used to stay by me so i didnt need it i still have it in case i need it again with Serenity, (she still is in the pram) I never liked the look of a leash that looked like the child was an animal. I had never seen these monkey backpacks before they look great
i love it! very cute, i bought one a couple of years ago for one of my kids, but never got around to useing it, there a very good idea especially when you have an escapee on your hands
My baby is 8 months so he still uses a pram. But I have a very free spirited 3 year old who thinks he can go shopping on his own! So I have a leash that I use when I need to.
I have 3 girls 6,4, and 1 on the 14th of July. Sadie (turning 1) will get the backback harness for her birthday. I used the safty first one with the others. It was a life saver. It also tought them to say close. So once I used it for a few weeks it was just for show or crowds. At first I used it at home to get them accustomed to the distance and restrictions. I must say it became a security for the now 4 year old. I urge eveyone to use one the way it is intended!
I've seen that monkey leash and it's adorable. And my son LOVES wearing packbacks (he's a huge Dora fan...) so we're about to go get one ourselves.
For those of you who can't find it at Wal Mart, I *think* you may be able to order it online. Wal Mart has a website that has most of their products availible online.
I thought I'd add this if you guys haven't seen it. It's very cute and it doesn't look at all like a leash. I've gotten asked by a lot of mommas where I got it.
If you can't find it at one Walmart, you may be able to find it at another. I know the first time I went to look for a leash, I found a cheap looking Elmo one. I only saw the monkey weeks later.
to raise my eyebrow a little at those parents with the leashes. Dare I say, I totally understand now. I wonder if the Walmart around here has any of the monkey ones, it sounds cute. Might pick one up so I have one when I need it.
i bought the same monkey backpack/leash for my 2 year-old twins. it is just about impossible to keep up with them when i'm by myself. let those without children think what they will!!
